Completed application materials are due to the SkillsUSA California State office on or before April 5, 2019. SkillsUSA California is the largest State association in the nation and deserves to be led by our finest student members looking to expand on their leadership qualities and abilities. 2019-20 State Officer team members receive training by national staff at the 2019 NLSC as well as participate in the Washington Leadership Training Institute where they will expand their knowledge and leadership skills while meeting with California legislators on Capital Hill in Washington, D.C. Included in their WLTI experience is a visit to the SkillsUSA National Center whete they will meet national leadership staff and learn the history of the SkillsUSA organization. We hope that you will encourage your student leaders to apply for the opportunity to run for State Office and serve the members of SkillsUSA California - the nations largest and most recognized state association!We also hope that your Chapter will bring students designated as voting delegates to the 2018 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skill Conference to participate in the middle school, high school and sollege postsecondary delegate sessions this year. Chapter delegates play an important role by interviewing and selecting the 2018-19 State Officer team while at the State Conference. The delegates will join the candidates and also receive leadership training from current and past State and National Officers as they prepare to cast their vote for the new State Officer team. They may also be identified and invited to attend the 2018 NLSC to serve as national voting delegates. National voting delegates attend delegate sessions while attending the NLSC and cast their ballot for the 2019-20 SkillsUSA National Officer Team. A special discounted State Conference rate is available for students attending the State Conference as Chapter Delegates to encourage Chapters to engage in the process of electing state officers and leading the organization through this democratic process.
