Student Leadership in Action

Gabrielle Mathis

John Burroughs High School

Gabrielle Mathis attends John Burroughs High School and is excited to be a Senior this year. She has a love for video production and enjoys learning all she can on the digital media pathway. Gabby’s fun spirit and positive outlook on life allows her to always try new things.  She enjoys new adventures and traveling across the United States. Gabrielle is a social butterfly by nature and looks forward to meeting as many new people as possible on her journey as a state officer for SkillsUSA. With a passion to serve and help others Gabby uses her charisma while volunteering throughout her community, serving as Secretary for her school’s Black Culture Club, and leading as Tennis Co-Captain for her high school. Gabby’s favorite essential element is Communication because it is a skill she has a lot of experience with, but knows she can always improve upon. After working as a tutor for Kumon Learning Center and working over 200 community service hours she has learned how to use her voice to communicate effectively, how to de-escalate situations, and most importantly to always listen and be kind. This Go-Getter is encouraging you to participate, learn, enjoy, and take advantage of everything SkillsUSA has to offer. Choose to be “job ready on day one” with SkillsUSA.
