Broadcast News Production

Description

This contest is open to active SkillsUSA members enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) with media technology and/or news broadcasting programs. This contest is comprised of four student members; two students serve as the news anchor team, one student will serve as the team’s director/technical director and one student will serve as the floor director. Each team will prepare a news rundown, write, produce and perform a three-minute newscast as if it were live. Teams are evaluated on their broadcast writing ability, voice quality, diction, timing, pacing and on-camera performance techniques. Contest entrants are required to submit an individually personalized resume. A short written test on Broadcast News knowledge and Team Interview will be given at the State level. This is Not a Live Event.
